Nursery - The nursery is located in Creation Cove, Early Childhood Center, so parents will feel secure in leaving their infants. The nursery staff is there to give loving comfort to each child in a warm, clean environment. A private nursing area is provided. A child remains in the nursery until they are 12 months old or walking well. The nursery is provided at all services (Sunday 9 am & 10:30 am; Wednesdays at 7 pm).
Toddlers - The toddlers is for children 12 to 24 months also located in Creation Cove. A loving staff provides security in this developmentally appropriate area equipped with large motor skill equipment to meet the needs of this active group. Singing and basic Bible words and stories round out this ministry. Toddler childcare is provided for all services.
Pre-School - The preschool meets the needs of children ages two to five years old. On Sunday morning, children are taught a song and Bible Story each service. Additionally, activities are planned that help to reinforce the Bible Story.
We believe that children hold a very special place in God's Kingdom! Jesus set the example in Mark 10:14, "Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these." We seek to build a strong program based on scripture as we teach the message of Jesus.
Each child will learn that:
1. God made them.
2. God loves them.
3. Jesus wants to be their friend forever.
Grace Brethren Church desires for the church to be a safe place for children to attend. Preventive steps have been taken to promote the safety of children and the volunteers who work with them. Volunteers are given classroom guidelines and each fills out a Ministry Application. Each classroom is equipped with glass windows for observation from the hallways. Each volunteer is asked to live in accordance with the scriptures and abide by our policies.
Power Hour Sunday School classes meet during the 9:00 am hour on Sunday mornings. All classes will meet according to grade with those in grade K-3 using Discipleland curriculum. The 4th grade uses Mack and Company curriculum developed by our fellowship to teach children the Grace Brethren beliefs. Fifth and sixth grade boys meet separate from the fifth and sixth grade girls.
Power Kids is for all children in kindergarten through grade 3. We meet in room 307-309 for devotionals, praise and worship & small group time.
Power Jam is for all children in grades 2 and 3. This classroom meets in room 305. We begin our morning with praise and worship followed by a devotional and small group time.
Power Up is a worship experience for children in grades 4 thru 6 here at Grace. During these 75 minutes we use the 252 basics curriculum as a basis in helping each child to draw closer to Christ and develop his/her relationship with Christ by focusing on God's truths. Knowing that it is the Holy Spirit within us that helps us to live fully for Christ, it is looking at the way we live versus God's desire for us that helps us to understand those things that we need to change. The monthly virtues are a great way to focus on the issues our kids are facing each day and how God can help them choose the right way to live. Their power to walk upright in today's world comes through Christ living in them, who enables them to stand firm and be witnesses in a fallen world. "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
-- Acts 1:8
