INTER-CHURCH FAITH-BASED CARE MINISTRIES THAT WE SUPPORT IN ASHLAND
One way that Grace ministers to the community is through several inter-church faith-based care ministries that we support with volunteers and funding. These approved ministries reach people by meeting basic life needs and with the gospel.
Ashland Church Community Emergency Shelter Services (ACCESS) houses the homeless in local churches. Thirteen churches take one week each quarter to house the guests. The guests qualify by willing to work through a personalized program directed by Amy Morgan at the Salvation Army. We host our guests both here and at our Eastgate Bible Church campus (179 Holbrook). Volunteers help by preparing meals, taking 2-4 hour shifts, setting up and tearing down and staying overnight at the church. To volunteer, leave a message with Pastor Jon. To help at Eastgate, contact Deb Holsinger at (419) 289-3893 or by email at

The Ashland Care Center (119 Sloan Ave.) equips people to make healthy choices consistent with God’s gift of life. Through outreach, education and support to women in unplanned pregnancies and to the community at large, they promote choosing life, chastity and healing with God’s help. We support them with board members, volunteers and with $7,200 from our Care budget. They need volunteers for such things as boutique helpers, Life-Walk supporters, client advocates, and receptionists. Contact Nicole Patterson or Ducia Hamm at (419) 281-1111.
The Ashland Christian Health Center (380 E. 4th St.) exists to holistically care for, and elevate the dignity of, Ashland County residents who are uninsured or under insured, in a Christ-centered atmosphere. We support them with $3,000 from our Care budget. Beyond medical volunteers, they also need help with hosting, reception, desktop publishing, general data entry, mailing, filing and housekeeping. To volunteer, contact Dr. Roger Snyder at (419) 289-8287.

The Food Bank (121 W. South St) was established many years ago by area churches to coordinate our food assistance ministries. We support them with annual food drives, helpers and gifts from individuals. They distribute thousands of pounds of groceries each year. They need help to collect, process and distribute the food. To volunteer, call (419) 281-6061. Note: Although the place and phone number is the same as Associated Charities, they are two separate organizations with different boards and funding sources.
Housing Partners of Ashland County (19 W. Main St, Suite 4) helps Ashland County residents to secure safe, decent and affordable housing though rentals, renovation or new homes. We help with volunteers and $2,400. To volunteer, contact Emmett Justice at (419) 281-9669.
Four churches provide Hunger Centers to provide meals throughout the month. We provide a meal in the gym on the third Sunday night of the month. To help, contact Pastor Rob Barlow.
